- HDFC Bank fee receipt: You need to carry your passport to pay the Visa fee in HDFC bank. [Go to any HDFC branch and ask for Visa interview form, just fill it out necessary form and give your passport and need to pay 130$ now].
- Once you get the HDFC Bank fee receipt, need to wait 2 complete business days [48 hours] to activate your barcode. This HDFC Bank fee receipt will be used for an interview for 365 days from the date you paid the fee in the HDFC bank.
- To book the interview slot you need to use the car code which will be mentioned on the HDFC bank receipt.
- You should have I-797 [Which will be received from your employer] petition to make an appointment for H1b Visa interview.
- With using HDFC bar code you can book the slot through the website http://www.vfs-usa.co.in and click on ‘Apply for a Non-immigrant Visa link’ [which you can see in the second point of the page in that website].
- Once you click on the ‘Apply for a Non-immigrant Visa link’ You can able to see ‘How to pay your fees’ page, just click on ‘Continue’ button if you already paid the fee in HDFC.
- In the next screen you need to select ‘No’ for the question ‘Do you have a BEP User ID’, then automatically It will take you to the next page where you can able to see ‘Create a new application’ link.
- Now you can able to see the ‘U.S Visa Online Application’ page, just go through all the terms and conditions by clicking ‘Terms & Conditions’ link in the page.
- Once you gone through the ‘Terms and Conditions’ just click on ‘I agree’ radio button in the same page and click on ‘Continue’ button.
- Once you get the next page (The state of residence should be the last state where you have lived for at least six months) you just complete the form as below.

And click on ‘Continue’.
- In the next screen you can able to see the available dates in green color of the corresponding embassy. On this page you need to just click on ‘Continue’.
- In the next screen you need to enter your passport Expires date [You need to select Day, Month and Year from the dropdown box].
- From the next screen onwards you can fill the fields as per the options / questions.
- Once you complete the DS-156 & DS-157 you will get the interview schedule with the date & timing.
- Once you reserved the interview slot, still if you want to change till Before 3 days of the visa interview you can able to postpone the visa interview date any time.
